Congress Capable Of Winning Minus TDP: Komatireddy
New Delhi: In the context of the preparations for a grand alliance featuring the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and the Congress, it appears that there is a difference of opinion within the leaders of the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC). Several Congress leaders have not come to terms with the fact that the Congress would join hands with a party that has anti-Congress ideology. On the sidelines of the TPCC meeting with Congress President Rahul Gandhi here today, senior leader DK Aruna said that the TDP-Congress alliance would not be a smooth affair.
"On the grass-root level, the party workers of TDP and Congress have fought against each other since 30 years. Transfer of TDP votes to Congress is not an easy task. The TDP candidates should be offered tickets only in those constituencies in which they are sure to win. On top of this, the TDP leaders are seeking Congress party tickets," she observed.
Former minister and senior leader of the Congress Komatireddy Venkat Reddy said that the party had strength to win on their own, without depending on any other party. He added that he had discussed on his plans to contest from Munugodu constituency with Rahul Gandhi.
