D Srinivas Refuses To Resign from TRS, Seeks Suspension

Nizamabad: Senior leader of the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and Rajya Sabha MP, D Srinivas today demanded that the TRS leadership suspend him from the party, after several party leaders alleged that Srinivas was involved in anti-party activities, in July this year. Speaking at a press conference organized here today, the leader said that he would not resign from the party, and that the party should suspend him. "If I resign from the party, it would mean that the charges are true. If the party leaders cannot prove the charges, they should take back the resolution against me," he added.

Srinivas said that TRS leaders booked his elder son, D Sanjay, under false cases, with a plan to weaken him politically. Even though the High Court issued the 41A notice, the police did not take appropriate action, he criticized. "My younger son, D Aravind, is a fan of Prime Minister Narendra Modi. It was his own decision to join the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). These days, it is common to let individuals to take their own decisions in life," he explained.

The Parliamentarian demanded that the TRS leaders prove their charges against him. “If the charges are true, they should reveal how I had benefited the BJP”, he added.

D Srinivas said that in his political career spanning 50 years, he was never questioned for lack of credibility, and that no one could question the commitment and love he had for the State. With an intention to weaken me politically, the TRS leaders are making baseless allegations against me, he added.
