Earlier Story
The TRS leadership seems to be in a tremendous hurry to push for early election on a war footing. Talk of the elections is in the air and an environment of impending polls has been created by the TRS supremo and Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekar Rao. It is learned that the list of selected candidates would be announced soon and it is currently under KCR's scrutiny. Moves are afoot to declare the list of candidates and it is likely that some new faces might find their names on the list, sources say.

It is reliably learnt that KCR is keen on announcing more than half of the candidates for 119 assembly and 19 Lok Sabha constituencies next month. At present, TRS has 90 MLAs in the Telangana State Assembly. Close to a third of this strength comprises migratory leaders from other parties such as Congress, BSP, YSRCP and TDP. KCR has announced several times that all the legislators would be given a TRS ticket. Sources close to the TRS supremo suggest that barring the names of 5-6 legislators from the ruling party, those of the others would be announced soon. It is learnt that the names of candidates to be fielded against the Congress and BJP in various constituencies are close to being finalised. KCR is particularly keen that some seats are wrested from these rival parties.
KCR is all set to blow the election bugle at the Pragathi Nivedana Sabha on September 2. The TRS leadership wants to sustain the momentum generated by this massive public meeting which could well kick off the poll campaign. Sources say that the chief minister is likely to convene a Cabinet meeting within a couple of days after the Pragathi Nivedana Sabha. Subsequently, key decisions could be taken during the meet. In the first list, the names of ministers and prominent leaders are likely to figure, it is being speculated.
The present MLAs from Karimnagar, Nizamabad, Combined Warangal who contested and lost in the 2014 elections are likely to get another chance to win at the hustings. In the district of Medak, all candidates are likely to be renominated except Andole. In Chennur of Adilabad district, there seems to be a fight over the issue of ticket between two aspirants. The tickets in the combined Mahbubnagar districts too are said to be more or less finalised barring the case of one MLA. In important constituencies like Gadwal, Alampur, Wanaparthy and Kalwakurthy, names of candidates have already been finalised by KCR, as per sources. Similarly in the case of both Hyderabad and Rangareddy districts, the names of all MLA candidates have been cleared except for two, in the case of which the decision hinges upon the selection of candidates for the Lok Sabha constituencies.
Party leaders maintain that the TRS supreme is taking extra measures to avoid conflicts between rival aspirants.
