Hyderabad: Congress leader in Telangana K Jana Reddy today claimed the ruling TRS was contemplating early Assembly polls as it was not able to fulfil its promises.

His comments come in the midst of speculations about the possibility of assembly elections in the state due next year being advanced.

"...It is clear that they want to regain power by going for early polls as they are not able to fulfil the promises," Reddy, Leader of Opposition in the assembly, told reporters here.

"They feel they will have to face more opposition from people in the months to come," he added.

The SCs, STs and backward classes would teach a lesson to the TRS government after looking at how many promises made to them have been fulfilled, Reddy said.

Meanwhile, state minister T Srinivas Reddy slammed Congress leaders for their comments against the TRS government and said the main opposition did not do anything substantial for people when it was in power.

It is the prerogative of the state government to decide whether to go for early polls or otherwise, he said. (PTI)
