Modi-KCR Meet: Early Elections On The Radar
New Delhi: Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) today visited Prime Minister Narendra Modi at his residence in Lok Kalyan Marg here. In the meeting that spanned 20 minutes, the two discussed 14 issues, which largely included early elections, implementation of the new Zonal system in the State and pending irrigation projects.
KCR sought the Prime Minister's intervention in implementing the Zonal system and the Centre's clearances of the proposals. Seeking the Centre's help in implementing the provisions of the Andhra Pradesh State Reorganisation Act, 2014, the Telangana CM sought PM Modi's assistance in ensuring reservations for SC/ST and minorities, providing financial assistance for Kaleshwaram project, release of pending funds for backward districts, funding for Regional Ring Road (RRR) among others.
The Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) Chief is also expected meet Union Ministers Nirmala Sitharaman, Arun Jaitley and others to discuss pending issues with respect to Telangana.
