KCR Not Committed To Bayyaram Plant: Ponguleti
Hyderabad: Telangana Congress leader Punguleti Sudhakar Reddy lashed out at Chief Minister K Chandrashekhar Rao (KCR) for ignoring Bayyaram Steel plant during his meeting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Delhi. "KCR once said, 'Bayyaram Ukku Telangana Hakku' (meaning Bayyaram steel is Telangana's right). But he completely ignored the steel plant issue in his meeting with PM Modi'," Ponguleti said during a press conference here today.
On Saturday, KCR met the Prime Minister in New Delhi to discuss issues pertaining to the assurances made to the state under the AP State Reorganization Act, 2014, the Centre's approval on the new zonal system and division of the High Court, among 11 different issues. The Congress leader questioned the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) government's commitment towards the setting up of Bayyaram Steel plant in the State.
KCR spoke on 11 issues with PM Modi, but did not speak a word about the steel plant, he said. Panchayat Minister K Taraka Rama Rao (KTR) is trying to fool people of the State by painting pictures about the government's efforts to set up the plant, he added.
"Instead of inviting Congress President Rahul Gandhi into the Osmania University campus, the State government is trying to block his meeting," he said.
