Telangana man gets APCOB chief post - Sakshi Post

Mahaboobnagar DCCB chairman Veera Reddy has been appointed as chairman of Andhra Pradesh Cooperative Bank (APCOB).

Minister for Information D K Aruna appears to have put enormous pressure on the Chief Minister to get his supporter elected to the coveted post.  Much sought post of APCOB chairmanship was achieved by a Telanganite, despite a strong opposition from Andhra leaders.

It is observed that the name of former Minister Pinnamaneni Venkateswara Rao of Krishna District came to fore at one stage as he made all his efforts to get the lucrative position. However, all the Telangana ministers mounted pressure on the Chief Minister Kiran Kumar Reddy that it should be given to Telangana region.

Finally, Veera Reddy has been chosen in a sudden twist. He will be in the position of APCOB chairman for a  period of two-and-half-years and Karimnagar DCCB chairman Ravinder would be the next chairman for the remaining two-and-half-years as per the consensus arrived at a meeting.
