Telangana Government to set up Data Center Campus in Hyderabad
Hyderabad: The Telangana state government is contemplating to come with a 'Data Center Campus' spread over 50 acres in the city outskirts, said the IT and Panchayat Raj minister KT Rama Rao on Saturday while announcing that Sify technologies would be setting up a Global Delivery Center in Hyderabad.
On the other hand, IT secretary Jayesh Ranjan said that the state government had talks with country's major data centers a month ago to set up a dedicated campus and the companies had given their approval. He further said that the consultations are in progress and they have asked the companies to indicate where they would like to set up the campus.
Hyderabad being considered safe from seismological view the city has lot of scope to lure the companies to set up their data centers. KT Rama Rao said that they are in talks with numerous organisations to establish their data centers in the city.
According to Gartner, the Indian data center infrastructure market was expected to hit USD 2.03 billion in 2015 from USD 1.92 billion in 2014. It also said that in the AsiaPacific region India will be the second largest market for data center infrastructure.
