Teenager Thrashed By Police For Theft, Video Goes Viral

Maharajganj (UP): Two policemen were caught on camera thrashing a teenager mercilessly for theft, at a police station.

The policemen brought the minor boy to the police station following a complaint of theft. They began with asking him about stolen goods. However, they resorted to physically attacking him with sticks and wooden log. They placed the wooden log on his thighs and a policeman each stood on either end. While the boy cried in agony, they questioned him about the theft. After sometime, they used wooden sticks to thrash the boy. Later, the boy was also kicked by the two policemen.

After the matter was reported to the police higher-ups, additional SP Ashutosh Shukla confirmed that the incident took place at Paniyara police station in September. He added that a sub-inspector and another officer have already been suspended. They resorted to the harsh method of questioning in relation to a theft case but was let off after sometime, Shukla said.
