Teenager commits suicide after parents say no to his marriage

Rangareddy: A 17-year-old teenager from Rangareddy District committed suicide on Saturday by consuming poison as his demands for marriage were not met.

According to the Kandukur police, Prashant, a shepherd by profession residing in Kandukur area in Rangareddy district, was allegedly pestering his parents to get him married, however, they refused to budge as he had an elder brother and they wanted to get him married first.

A depressed Prashant consumed poison on December 9 and succumbed while undergoing treatment at a local hospital.
