There seems to be a new kind of mobile hacking strategy has become rampant across the country. Till now, confidential information like bank pins and card numbers were used for hacking. This time around, it is the mobile phone which is being targeted. This hacking method is called sim swap fraud.

There is hardly any reception of your operator. and out of the blue, you get a call from the hacker saying they are calling from the concerned network and claim there is a technical glitch in the phone. You may be asked to press one to revive the services. The moment you punch in the key, they gain access to mobile owners bank data. By the time mobile phone gets the signal back all the bank accounts are empty. As the phone is hacked, bank is also unable to send a message notifying the transaction.
According to the police, receiving phone call from unknown contacts and networks can be avoided as a safety measure.
