Teary eyed Allagadda gratefully recalls Shobhamma's services

As a mark of respect to Sobha Nagireddy, a statue of the leader was unveiled by YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy at an impressive programme organised at her home town of Allagadda in Kurnool district. The statue was unveiled at the Sobha Nagireddy Ghat on the occasion of her first death anniversary.
Moist eyes, silent sobs marked the occasion. Several leaders including YS Vijayamma and Sobha Nagireddy were teary eyed recalling Sobha Nagireddy's life and works.
Speaking on the occasion, YSR Congress chief YS Jagan said the massive turnout despite the oppressive heat was indicative of the love of the people for Sobha Nagireddy. "What separates good MLAs from mere MLAs is their readiness to walk the extra mile for the welfare of the people. She was like my elder sister. I saw tears in her eyes when she visited the prison and courts during my incarceration. For me her death is a personal loss. We shall stand by her family and pray for peace to Shobhakka and her family," said YS Jagan.
He released a CD and a cassette containing songs on Sobha Nagireddy on the occasion. Sobha Nagireddy's husband and YSRCP senior leader Bhuma Nagi Reddy said she was hugely popular for her social work and service to the people of the nation. As he spoke he became teary eyed and said it was a personal loss to him as it was to the party and the people.He said Sobha Nagireddy always yearned to make YS Jagan the chief minister.
A large number of people, including party workers, attended the programme. Several MLAs were also present.
Hyderabad: YSRCP leaders on Friday paid homage to dynamic woman leader of YSRCP Bhuma Sobha Nagireddy on her first death anniversary in the party headquarters at Hyderabad. Party leaders Vijaysai Reddy, Sujjala Rama Krishna Reddy, Ambati Rambabu and others paid floral tribute to Sobha Nagireddy.
Praksam districts YSRCP office also conducted a program where local leaders recalled the leader's humble nature and garlanded her portrait. Kurnool, the native village of Shobha Nagireddy paid rich tributes to the great leader while her husband Nandyala MLA Bhooma Nagireddy and other MLA's attended first death anniversary.
