Teacher punishes 10-year-old into death

Karimnagar: In a shocking incident, a 10-year-old girl died after she was made to undergo the wall-chair punishment for not doing her home work. The incident occurred in Huzurabad of Karimnagar district on Wednesday.

According to the police, Aashrita, a student of Class V and daughter of Kolipaka Sammayya and Rama, was punished by her teacher in Vivekavardhini School in Huzurabad for not doing her homework. The teacher made her do the wall-chair. After two ours, the girl collapsed as the blood circulation to her legs stopped. She was rushed to a hospital, but by then it was already too late.

Bereaved parents, relatives and students are staging protests outside the school demanding strict action against the school authorities
