TDP Trying To Water Down Vizag Land Scam Probe: YSRCP
YSRCP senior leader Gudivada Amarnath on Tuesday said that the Chandrababu Naidu government was trying every trick in the trade to weaken the probe into the infamous Vizag land scam. He said though it has been six months since a Special Investigation Team probe was launched, there has been no outcome nor any report. He said this was nothing but an attempt to water down the probe. He also said that the Telugu Desam Govenment was trying to protect the accused in the scam as they were party functionaries, including ministers.
He said a minister in the TDP Government had grabbed prime lands illegally and pledged them to obtain bank loans. He said no action has been taken on the minister. He said when the chief minister himself was involved in nefarious deals like Cash for Vote scam, where he was caught distributing money to buy votes in the MLC elections, how can he rein in the ministers and MLAs.
Stating that the Vizag land scam was enormous and unprecedented in scale, he said several TDP biggies, including ministers were involved in the scam. Stating that the whole probe was a mere eyewash, he said that there were many more scams like the Pendurthi land scam, Bhimili land scam and Dasapalla land scam, where the Government has not taken any action against the culprits. He said to cover up its crimes and absolve its leaders, the Government was trying shift the blame on the YSRCP.
