TDP To Meet After Diwali To Discuss Revanth Reddy’s Dhamaka
With Revanth Reddy launching a broadside on the party leadership for getting pally with his tormentor K Chandrasekhar Rao and for even talking about a possible alliance with the TRS, the Telugu Desam Party has reacted carefully. It said the party supremo alone will decide on the alliances.
It said Chandrababu Naidu's decision on alliances is final and binding on the party and any other person's utterances should be taken as personal opinions. The party's Telangana unit is likely to meet immediately after Diwali to discuss Revanth Reddy's comments. The party's Telangana president L Ramana, politburo members and state committee members will attend the meet. Party sources said invitation has been extended to Revanth Reddy also.
Meanwhile, Revanth Reddy said he would take a decision on whether to stay or leave the party after meeting Chandrababu Naidu.
Revanth Reddy has been sulking ever since there were reports that the TDP and the TRS are coming together in Telangana. Lending credence to the reports, another senior leader from Telangana, Motkupalli Narasimhulu, said that the TDP would rather align with TRS than joining hands with the Congress. An upset Revanth sought clarity from Chandrababu, but the latter was evasive. Since then, Revanth has been preparing ground to leave the TDP.
