TDP MPs Must Resign And Join The Fight For Special Status: YS Jagan

YS Jagan Mohan Reddy - Sakshi Post

Prakasam: Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu must get all the TDP MPs to resign from their posts and join the fight for Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh, Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy said.

Addressing a public meeting in Addanki on the 103rd day of the Praja Sankalpa Yatra, on Sunday, he said the chief minister said that resignation of TDP MPs will be the last resort in the demand for SCS. "We call on the TDP leader to make it the first priority and not the last. The TDP partner, Pawan Kalyan, should convince the TDP leadership to join the YSRCP MPs in Delhi in their demand for SCS. At this critical juncture it will not help if Chandrababu keeps changing his stance on the SCS and altering between SCS and special package," YS Jagan said.

The YSRCP chief, went on to speak about the phase-wise implementation of the protest to convince the Central government about granting SCS to AP. "We have held dharnas at all the district collectorates on March 1. Beginning from March 5, protests will be staged in Delhi till the end of the Parliament session. If the Central government does not clarify its stand on SCS till then, then a no confidence motion will be passed in the Parliament. This will be followed by resignation of all YSRCP MPs on April 6. It is for this mass resignations, that the YSRCP called on the TDP leaders to join," he said and told the people that the resignation of 25 Andhra Pradesh MPs will force the Central government for a rethink on SCS.

"Drought conditions are haunting the farmers in the state. In the current year, the Kharif crop had 32 per cent rainfall deficit while the Rabi crop had 71 per cent deficit rainfall. After the failure of the Kharif crop, an ideal government would provide input subsidy to the farmers for the following Rabi crop. However, the Chandrababu Naidu government failed to come to the rescue of farmers since four years. A few farmers who managed to get their crop to the market failed to get the minimum support price," YS Jagan told the massive gathering in Addanki, on Sunday. People from all walks of the society gathered in huge numbers at the public meeting, on Sunday evening, displaying a massive support to the YSRCP.
