TDP MLC candidate trails behind UTF candidate
The twin Godavari district teacher constituency MLC elections are turning out to be quite interesting.
The TDP-backed former MLC Chaitanya Raju is trailing behind the United Teachers’ Federation (UTF) candidate Ramasurya Rao.
UTF candidate secured 7265 first preferential votes as against Chaitanya Raju’s 5443 votes. The second preferential votes are being counted now. The result is likely to be announced by late evening.
Interestingly, the ruling TDP backed UTF candidate in Guntur-Krishna teachers’ constituency, but in twin Godavari districts, it is fighting the UTF candidate. The present elections are now being seen as a confirmation of the supremacy of the UTF.
