TDP men kidnap independent candidate

Telugu Desam Party leaders reportedly kidnapped Polamreddy Srinivasulu Reddy, an independent candidate, in Kovur of Nellore district. Reddy's family members have lodged a complaint with the police.
Interestingly, Reddy shares his name with the TDP candidate and the TDP wanted him to withdraw from the contest as similar name would create confusion among the voters.
They had even threatened him to withdraw his candidature. However, the namesake Reddy flatly spurned their requests. Finally, reports said that the TDP had kidnapped him.
The police are investigating.
