TDP Leader Hosts Obscene Dances in Annavaram Temple

East Godavari: A local Telugu Desam Party (TDP) leader hosted obscene dances at a marriage function at Harihara Sadan in Annavaram temple, of the district on Saturday morning.

Temple employees assigned to Hariharan Sadan did not dare to stop the event as it was being hosted by a political leader of Dhanavaipeta village of Thondangi mandal. Arrangements for the marriage between Satish and Divya began at the temple premises on Friday evening. Hired dancers were brought-in and on Saturday amid loud filmy music the dances were held.
Following a public outcry, Endowments Minister P Manikyala Rao and Commissioner YV Anuradha pulled up temple Executive Officer Nageshwara Rao. The latter on his part said that a complaint has been lodged with the Thondangi police. However, only a couple of lower rung officials have been suspended while others have been issued memos.
