TDP Govt Yet To Submit Further Revised Polavaram Project Cost Estimates

Despite so much noice on Polavaram, the ruling TDP is not making any progress on this prestigious project, which would help irrigate lakhs of acres in the coastal Andhra Pradesh. This was revealed in the Rajya Sabha by the Union Government.

To a question raised by YSRCP MP V Vijaysai Reddy in Rajya Sabha, Union Minister of State for Water Resources, River Development and Ganga Rejuvenation Dr Sanjeev Kumar Balyan said that the State Government did not submit the revised cost estimates of the project to the Centre.

He said that the estimated cost of Polavaram Irrigation Project was Rs. 10,151.04 crore at 2005-06 price level and Rs. 16,010.45 crore at 2010-11 price level. The further revised cost estimates of the project have not been sent so far, he added.
