It may be recalled that the YSRCP led by Leader of Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy had introduced a phase-wise programme to bring pressure on the Central government to grant Special Category Status (SCS) for Andhra Pradesh. The party planned to move the no confidence motion on March 21. However, since the Parliament session is expected to conclude much earlier, the YSRCP changed its decision to move the no confidence motion on Friday (March 16) itself.

Karnataka BJP spokesperson Vivek Reddy said that BJP made all the effort to go but Naidu has taken this step deliberately to get sympathy from the people.
