TDP, Cong In A Tizzy Over Revanth Reddy’s Next Move
Revanth Reddy continues to create ripples in both the Congress Party and the Telugu Desam Party. Days after he went public with his disenchantment with the possible political marriage between the ruling TRS and the TDP in Telangana, the party are in a tizzy over how to react to his plans to join the Congress Party.
While the Congress is cagey about his possible entry into the party, the TDP is worried about Revanth’s next political move. Telangana Congress chief Uttam Kumar Reddy said he did not know anything about Revanth Reddy’s joining. He said the High Command will take the decision. Interestingly, he invited former MP and cricketer Mohammad Azharuddin to contest from anywhere in Telangana.
The TDP is in a confused state on how to react. On Thursday, TDP biggie and minister Devineni Umamaheswara Rao evaded questions on Revanth Reddy. When asked to respond on Revanth’s allegations about ministers from Andhra Pradesh bagging plum contracts in Telangana, he evaded a reply.
The Telangana unit of the TDP will meet on Friday to discuss the developments post Revanth Reddy’s sensational allegations.
