TDP Breaking Up Alliance With BJP Is An Eyewash?

CM Chandrababu Naidu - Sakshi Post

Amaravati: The Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party meeting, on Sunday, proved beyond doubt that the TDP statements about dissatisfaction with the Central government on Union Budget 2018 and the subsequent breaking up of alliance with the BJP was a mere eyewash.

It may be recalled that the TDP, through its friendly media outlets, made selective leaks that the party is all set to break away from the alliance partnership with the BJP due to the injustice done to Andhra Pradesh in the Union Budget. The TDP also threatened to raise the issue in Parliament while state TDP leaders indulged in mudslinging with the BJP.

It has now emerged that the TDP made the selective leaks sensing unrest among the people about the Union Budget allocations to AP. Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is understood to have told the TDP meeting on Sunday, that the party cannot afford to break away from the alliance. "The party can only pressurise the BJP for more fund allocation for Andhra Pradesh and nothing more," Chandrababu told TDP MPs.

Later, addressing the media TDP MP Sujana Chowdary said that the TDP will conduct talks with the Central government for more funds. "BJP president Amit Shah did not call CM Chandrababu Naidu nor were there talks between the CM and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray," he said in reply to a question.
