T Govt’s Key Cabinet Meet On New Districts

The Telangana Cabinet will hold a key meeting on Saturday to thrash out several important issues. The meeting, set to be held at 4.30 PM, will discuss 30 issues on the agenda.

The following are the key issues:

FORMATION OF NEW DISTRICTS: The government will take up the issue of formation of new districts in the nascent state of Telangana. An all-party meeting will also be organised in the issue.

RESERVATIONS: Giving 12 per cent reservations to Muslims and Tribals would also be discussed at the Cabinet meeting. The Cabinet will also take into consideration the reports of Sudhir Commission and Chellappa Commission on the issue.

DA HIKE: The government is also planning to effect a 3.144 per cent hike in the dearness allowance for the government employees.

OTHERS: Filling of 150 vacancies in irrigation department, stricter norms for driving license, increasing the number of trust board members from 9 to 15 and hiking the revised estimates for Kalwakurthi lift irrigation scheme and giving consent to GST bill.
