Swine flu in East Godavari dist

The deadly swine flu has spread its tentacles in the remote villages of East Godavari in the Coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Doctors here confirmed today that at least four persons, two each in China Bodduvaripalem and Pedda Bodduvaripalem of Tallarevu mandal, in the district were suffering from the disease.
District Medical and Health officials have declared medical emergency in both the villages. The villagers have been advised not to move out of their places without the permission of the medical authorities. Educational institutions in the villagers were declared holiday for two days beginning today.
Medical camps have been set up at 13 places in Tallarevu mandal while medical examinations were conducted on 700 persons in the mandal. However, other the four, no one else was tested positive to the disease, the officials said.
