SV Mohan Reddy’s Comments Make TDP Leadership Squirm

Kurnool MLA SV Mohan Reddy, who defected from the YSRCP to the ruling TDP, made sensational and shocking comments during the campaign in poll-bound Nandyal. Talking to party workers and key leaders at a meeting, he said the bypoll was a boon for Nandyal and the Government has initiated a slew of developmental programmes.

Going a step ahead, he said the people of neighbouring constituency too want their MLA to die so that developmental works would be taken up there too. This shocking statement exposed the lack of development during the last three years in the TDP. He was expressing his discontent at the lack of development in the area.

Significantly, Minister and daughter of Bhuma Nagireddy, whose death necessitated the bypoll, Bhuma Akhila Priya too was on the dais.

SV further said that the Government did not bother about developing the constituency as long as Bhuma Nagireddy was alive. Now that there is a bypoll, sops are being showered, he said. The government has launched works worth Rs 300 crore in the last 10 days.

His comments have shocked the TDP leadership, which is fighting with its back to the wall.
