Suspicious death of TTD employee

Tirupati: A suspicious death of an employee of Tirumala Tirupati Devastanam (TTD) was reported in Nehru Nagar in Tirupati of Chittoor district on Wednesday.

52 year-old Manoharaiah, working as an electrician at the TTD-managed Umamaheshwara Temple in Vishakhapatnam, was suspended recently for resorting to obscene activities on the temple premises. He returned to Tirupati recently and was found dead on Wednesday.

However, locals are alleging that Manoharaiah was killed by his family members on the day he came home. Suspicious locals informed the police when Manoharaiah's family members brought a freezer to keep his body on Wednesday night. The locals alleged that the his wife must have killed him as they found injuries on his head.

The locals also alleged that his wife would have killed Manoharaih with the help of her younger daughter as the latter could get a job under the mercy recruitment after her father's death before his retirement. They noticed that wife had not even inform their relatives about her husband's death.

Police have seized the dead body and sent to hospital for post mortem and are probing into the case after registering a case against the incident.
