Suspense Ends, TDP-BJP Alliance Continues

Amaravati: Putting a full stop to the suspense about their alliance with BJP, TDP president and Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has asked his party MPs not react to the Union Budget or on ties with the BJP.

Telugu Desam Parliamentary Party meeting was held here in Amaravati presided over by Chandrababu. The MPs were told to maintain restraint over the developments, especially with regard to the alliance. The Chief Minister reportedly told the MPs that a decision would be taken about the alliance with the BJP at an appropriate time.

Speaking to media persons after the meeting, TDP MP and Union Minister Sujana Chowdhary refuted the news that the TDP would no more be an ally of the NDA government. "The Chief Minister is trying to bring consensus between both the parties and as MPs we respect his decision," he said.

Some of the Telugu news channels claimed that BJP chief Amit Shah might have spoken to Chandrababu over the phone in regards to the alliance. However, Sujana Chowdhary refuted saying that there was no truth in the news. He mentioned that the news that Chandrababu spoke to Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray is also not true.
