Supreme Court Takes Up YSRCP MLA RK’s PIL On Cash For Vote Scam
In a key development in the Note for Votes, the Supreme Court has taken up the Public Interest Litigation filed by Mangalagiri MLA and YSRCP leader Alla Ramakrishna Reddy demanding that the case be handed over to the CBI. The three-member bench of the Supreme Court, led by Chief Justice Deepak Mishra, has taken up the PIL and directed that the PIL be tagged to the main case.
MLA RK in his PIL said that though it has been two years since the incident happened and alleged that the Telangana Anti Corruption Bureau was not pursuing the case sincerely. He said that the first charge-sheet in the case was vastly different from the second charge-sheet. Though the audio tapes have been proved to be that of Chandrababu Naidu, the TRS Government is trying to water down the case. He argued that the video tapes had shown former TDP working president Revanth Reddy very clearly. Unless a CBI probe is done, the truth will not come out, he argued.
RK's counsel Ponnavolu Sudhakar Reddy said that the Telangana ACB was not sincere in dealing with the case. He said efforts were on to weaken the case.
