Sudden rains soak Telangana

Unexpected and hugely welcomed showers drenched Hyderabad city and several parts of North Telangana region.

Hailstorms were also reported from several parts of the city and the Telangana districts.

While they brought respite to the citizens from the sweltering heat, they also threw the traffic out of gear. Traffic holdups were reported from several places. In Korutla of Karimnagar district, heavy and sudden rains have damaged the harvested turmeric. The rains also threw life out of gear in Jagityal, Karimnagar and other towns in the North Telangana region.

Met officials said that the rains could continue for another three days.
