YS Jagan consoling Yerpedu victims - Sakshi Post

YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy assured the kin of the victims of the tragic Yerpedu mishap that he would stand by them and demanded that the Government provide adequate compensation to the affected people.

YS Jagan went to Munagalapalem villag straight from Renigunta airport. As many as 13 people from this village died in the mishap.

He consoled several affected families and assured to stand by them. The victims, who recounted the horrific tragedy, blamed the ruling TDP and its minions for the mishap. They said illegal and indiscriminate sand quarrying was the cause for the misery of the locals and the victims died while protesting against the illegal sand quarrying.

YS Jagan will also visit Musilipedu, Ravillavari Kandriga and Aundhatiwada, where the locals lost lives in the mishap. He will also inspect the Swarnamukhi river where illegal sand quarrying is wreaking an ecological and agrarian havoc.

It may be recalled that as many as 17 persons died and another 15 were injured when an overspeeding truck ploughed through a protesting group in Yerpedu. While six persons were mowed down, the remaining suffered electric shock due to an uprooted electric pole, which was rammed into by the speeding vehicle.
