Sub-plan funds should be spent in full
Demanding the TDP government to spend the budget allocated in SC, ST sub-plan in full in the financial year, YSR Congress has said that the Chief Minister has been adopting anti-dalit measures as not a single welfare measure has benefitted the weaker sections.
“With only three months left in the financial year, the TDP government has spent only Rs 1,300 crore of the outlay of Rs 4,574 crores for SCs and just Rs 273 crores for STs while 80 % of the funds is still untouched.
This shows the policy of the TDP government and we demand that all the funds allocated in the sub-plan should be spent in the coming three months,” the Party SC Cell State President Meruga Nagarjuna told reporters here on Tuesday.
Chandrababu Naidu has been pursuing the anti-dalit policies as his focus is more on non-plan expenditure while cutting down the quantum of welfare schemes and leaving the plan expenditure unspent.
Though he promised that SC, STs would get a lion’s share in the welfare schemes not a single rupee was allocated to the weaker sections and the sub-plan funds, which is binding by the constitution, were not spend though the financial year is coming to a close.
Reservations in NALSAR and ISB is a far cry and no jobs were provided by the TDP government so far which shows that his dalit welfare is not on the agenda of his governance though the Party manifesto speaks otherwise, he said.
We demand that the entire accrued amount should be released and spent in this financial year and the State should ensure that there are no lapses, he added.
