Student Commits Suicide Over Home Work Pressure

Hyderabad: A class 9 student committed suicide after the teachers at school reprimanded her for not doing home work in Hayath Nagar on city outskirts on Wednesday night.
Nandini (15) was a class 9 student at Sai Chaitanya school. She was not going to school for a few days fearing punishment for not doing home work. On Wednesday, she got ready to go to school, but changed her mind and stayed back at home. On enquiry by parents, she reportedly told them the teachers would punish severely for not doing home work. Though her father comforted her saying he will accompany her to school the next day, she took the extreme step and died after hanging herself when the family members were sleeping at night.
Nandini's parents demanded severe action against the school management for forcing their daughter to death. Police are investigating.
