B Tech graduate arrested for chain snatching in Tirupati - Sakshi Post

Tirupati Crime: The Urban district crime police have arrested a professional thief at Thanapalli market yard on Wednesday. The thief, Kampa Eshwar Kishore (29), is reportedly a resident of Kothapalem Layout of Thiruchanur. He has completed his
B Tech in Information Technology back in 2010 and has since been preparing for government exams at Nandyal and Tirupati. According to the police, since Kishore was unsuccessful in the exams, he has begun stealing bags in Tirupati.

Speaking at the press conference at the Crime Police station here, DSP Ravi Shankar Reddy said, "The accused has resorted to stealing bags initially. Later he started targeting lone women and stole jewellery. We have found in the investigation that the accused was booked under 19 cases in various police stations. He was booked under 7 cases in Tirupati Crime station, seven in MR Palli station, two in SVU station, one in Sri Kalahasti and two in Thiruchanuru. We have got an information that he was about to sell jewellery on 7th of this month. We got hold of the accused and recovered gold worth Rs 13.40 lakh weighing 383 grams, 422 grams of silver and Rs 1.70 Lakh of cash from him".

The DSP has credited Circle Inspectors Abbanna, Sharath Chandra, Bhaskar Reddy, Padma Latha, SI Ramesh Babu and other personnel for chasing this case. He has also appreciated the Crime Party Incharges and ID Party personnel for their efforts and announced to provide rewards over the hands of Urban SP Abhishek Mohanti. Special appreciations were given to Swayam Prakash, Ravi Prakash and Gouri Nayudu for their sincere efforts.
