Strong Winds Overturn Oil Tanker In Sullurpet 

Nellore: As cyclone Vardah continued to batter the district, strong winds overturned an oil tanker in Sullurpet here on Monday.

Several gallons of oil was spilled all along the roads leading to massive traffic jam. Officials restricted vehicular movement along the mishap site as a precautionary measure.

Adverse climatic conditions are continuing to prevail over Chennai and parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh. Trees were uprooted and hoardings and buildings were demolished at several places due to gale and storm over the region. The pilgrimage center of Tirupati also witnessed heavy rainfall due to the impact of the cyclone. Massive fog conditions enveloped Tirumala hills resulting in drastic fall in day temperatures.
