Woman steals mother's jewellery, arrested

Hyderabad: A woman was arrested on Monday by Narayanguda police after she stole jewellery from her parents' house.

Shaukat-un-nisa Munawar (28) who resides in Himayath Nagar is the daughter of Afzal and Mahboob Bi. She had married a Hindu, Satyanarayana and later changed her name to Revathi.

Few days ago, Shaukat returned to her parents' home stating that she had a fight with her husband. After gaining their confidence, she stole 67 tolas gold ornaments and 40 tolas silver. Her parents had lodged a complaint after they realized that jewellery was missing.

Police registered a case and started investigating. However, she was caught red-handed when she was trying to sell the jewellery at RTC X roads.
