‘State Government Is Shielding The Culprits In Class 10 Question Paper Leak Case’

Amaravati: The state government should order a CBI inquiry into the class 10 question paper issue, YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy demanded in the assembly here on Thursday.

"Only a CBI inquiry will nail the role of minister Narayana and his educational institutes," he said. The YSRCP will provide all evidences in its possession to the CBI, YS Jagan said and assured his party's full cooperation in the investigation. The opposition party also has evidences pertaining to the Hindi paper leak in Kadiri of Anantnapur district, he added. He strongly condemned the statements of chief minister N Chandrababu Naidu on the issue in the assembly and termed them as misleading and self-contradictory. "The chief minister has not spoken about those responsible for the question paper leak but is blaming the 'Sakshi' reporter who brought the issue to the notice of the district education officer." he said and questioned,

"why is an FIR registered on March 28 when the question paper was leaked on March 25 itself? The chief minister is blatantly misleading the people and the student community when he said that his government introduced the 'jumbling system' in the conduct of the examinations, YS Jagan said. The system was introduced as far back as 1978 in the united state of Andhra Pradesh whereas the CM is taking credit for introducing the system, he reminded the assembly.

Cheap Tactics

Chief minister Chandrababu Naidu is resorting to cheap tactics in the assembly when crucial issue of question paper is raised in the assembly, YS Jagan said while replying to the CM's comments.

The chief minister is evading a direct response on the issue by speaking about irrelevant topics, he said. The CM said that he did MA (Economics) from SV University but has no idea where the opposition leader YS Jagan did his education from. Replying to the charge, YS Jagan said he studied at Hyderabad Public School in Begumpet and always stood first class in tenth, inter and degree examinations.

The Five Minutes

Leader of the opposition in the state assembly YS Jagan Mohan Reddy gave a strongly-worded reply to the TDP statements and took the state government to task on the class 10 question paper issue. Laying the events of March 25 thread-bare in the assembly, he said the science examination was scheduled to start at 9:30 am while images of the question paper were out at 9:25 am. "That is a crucial five minutes before the start of the examination. An employee of Narayana institute forwarded those images from the examination hall to other persons on WhatsApp. Other employees then prepared answers to those questions and forwarded copy chits to Narayana students," YS Jagan pointed out.

How did an examiner or any official take his cellphone to the exam hall when rules strictly prohibit carrying of cell phones by any official, he questioned the chief minister. The state government only acknowledged that the question paper was leaked only after 'Sakshi' exposed the issue, he said and pointed out to the status report of the education officer which clearly stated that question paper was leaked. "Why didn't the state government cancel the examination when it got the report from the officer? Why no action has been taken on Narayana institutes, its owner minister Narayana and also on the state education minister" YS Jagan asked the ruling party in a packed assembly on Thursday.
