Stage set for Shankar Rao's arrest
With the AP High Court vacating the stay on Shankar Rao's arrest, the former Minister seems to met his political Waterloo.
The stage is now set for the maverick politician's arrest. Shankar Rao, along with his brother, Dayanand has been accused of land-grabbing by residents of Greenfields Colony in Kannajiguda, in Old Alwal under Malkjagiri Mandal of Ranga Reddy district. More than 800 plots have been registered on over 60 acres, which was being claimed by Shankar Rao and his brother.
It was alleged that the former minister tried to misuse his official position and influence revenue and police officials, apart from harassing the local residents. Shankar Rao was accused of submitting false documents to courts. The former minister seems to have met his political nemesis with the Court clearing the way for his arrest. Meanwhile, efforts to contact Shankar Rao failed as his mobile phones remained switched off.
