Sridevi’s Death: What Exactly Happened?

The entire country has plunged into grief following the untimely demise of the first female superstar Sridevi. On the other hand, several stories about her death fuelled by speculation are doing the rounds in social media circles . Very few know what exactly happened on that fateful night. What could have caused a heart stroke when Sridevi was wholeheartedly enjoying Mohit Marwah’s wedding celebrations. Where were her husband and daughter at her time of death?

These are among some of the questions doing the rounds on social media. The Indian Consulate in Dubai issued a clarification on the incident, shedding light on what happened. They pointed out that Sridevi suffered a massive heart stroke in her hotel room at the Emirate Towers in Dubai around 11 pm.

Her family and friends rushed her to Rashid hospital, where doctors declared her brought dead. The employees of the hotel in which Sridevi, her daughter and husband Boney Kapoor had checked in, however refused to comment as the case is under police investigation.

The officials said that the post-mortem had been completed and the body would be handed over to the family members soon. Death certificate and a few other documents are to be issued by the local officials.

The consolation was that her husband Boney Kapoor and her younger daughter Kushi were present when tragedy struck. It was a blessing that at least one of Sridevi’s daughters was by her father’s side when the actress passed away. Unfortunately, her older daughter Jhanvi was in India at the time of death. Jhanvi was busy with her film commitments. She was shooting for her debut film.

Sridevi's mortal remains were brought to Dubai Forensics Department in the early hours of Sunday. The body will be taken to Muhaisana Medical Centre for embalming. Later, it will be sent to India in a private jet, said the officials in Dubai.
