Highest Paid Players IPL 2019
The King's XI Punjab bought Sam Curran, the England all-rounder for a whopping INR 7.2 crores and for good reason. Curran is known for his top-notch performances in long formats. Sam Curran came up with an excellent performance against India in the latest Test series, where India lost the series by winning one test out of the five it played.
He made his presence at the crease felt by adding much-needed runs while batting in the lower order. He bowls left-arm fast medium which adds value to the team. The all-rounder proved his mettle against Sri Lanka as well. Sam Curran was an obvious choice in IPL 2019 Auction and a great buy for the King's XI. The lefthander will play only till May 1 as England players are not allowed to play in other leagues with the One Day International World Cup coming up and preparation it would entail.
Colin Ingram is a South African player to watch out for. The left-handed batsman was bought for INR 6.40 Crores by Delhi Daredevils. Ingram had earlier played three matches for the DD side. The South African is a middle order batsman and a big hitter of the cricket ball. He lends the required depth to the middle order. Ingram has played 202 T20 matches in his career and has scored 5186 runs. With a strike rate of 139 in the T-20 format, he is someone to keep an eye on. The fact remains that Ingram has played only nine T20Is for South Africa, notching up 210 runs in nine innings.
Carlos Brathwaite, the West Indies T20I captain was bagged by Kolkata Knight Riders for INR 5 Crores. Brathwaite had played for Sunrisers Hyderabad in the previous edition of the league. A dangerous batsman, he can turn a game on its head in no time with his his hard-hitting sixes. His yorkers with the ball could come in handy for KKR. These three are the highest paid foreign players in the IPL.
