Special status only for 7 districts : Jairam Ramesh
Union Minister for Rural Development, Jairam Ramesh said that the special status would be applied only to seven districts, and not for all 13 districts, in Seemandhra region.
Speaking to the reporters in Visakhapatnam on Monday, he said, “All the four districts in Rayalaseema and three districts in North Andhra region will be given the special status.”
“These districts in Seemandhra state will be given the special status just like that of Bundelkhand,” said the minister.
He clarified that the new railway zone would be formed in Seemandhra state.
“Tax exemption would be applied only to the industries to be formed in future. That will not applicable to the industries already existed,” said the minister.
