All YSRCP MPs Will Resign To Press For Special Category Status: YS Jagan
Severely criticising TDP Government and Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu for trying to sabotage the movement demanding special category status for Andhra Pradesh, YSRCP chief YS Jagan Mohan Reddy called upon the youth to carry forward the movement for special status and teach Chandrababu a lesson..
Addressing a well-attended Yuva Bheri at Guntur on Thursday, he termed the special category state was a potent instrument to transform Andhra Pradesh. He told the youth and the students that special category status would entail jobs and income generating opportunities to the locals so that state's growth and development would be sustainable.
"He should have actually led the protests for Special Category Status. But, he is just not doing anything, but has even stooped to the level of stopping the leader of opposition from attending a rally on Vizag beach. We have seen rail rokos and rasta rokos. But Chandrababu is unique in that he had even done a plane roko to stop me from attending the rally," YS Jagan quipped.
Stating that no one would invest in AP just by looking at Chandrababu, he said the investment summits organised in AP are proof enough of this. He also ridiculed Chandrababu's claims about investment inflow. He said Chandrababu's claim investment of over Rs 10 lakh crore through MoUs with entrepreneurs were misleading. Of 4.67 crore worth of MoUs claimed in 2016, only 2.87 crore entered the Investment Entrepreneur Memorandum. In 2014, 21556 IEMs were entered into and of them only 2804 crore were implemented.
He said a significant amount of MoUs at Vizag summit were fictitious. Citing two instances, he said Trilok Kumar entered into an MoU with the Government. But he is a mere PRO of industries belonging to Anakapalli's Gandham Nandagopal's industries. Similarly, another person who entered MoUs is Vinod Kumar of Santagudipalem in Guntur district. He lives in a tile-roofed house and his wife is an anganwadi worker. He said a top honcho of industries department has refused to sign on many MoUs as they are fictitious.
He reiterated that all YSRCP MPs would resign during the next session of parliament and would go to the people on the issue.
