Speaker suspends 10 TDP MLAs for a day
Ten MLAs belonging to the Telugu Desam Party have been suspended for a day from the Telangana Assembly on Friday when they continued to create ruckus demanding a discussion on the suicides of farmers.
The TDP members, including Errabelli Dayakar Rao, Revanth Reddy, M. Krishna Rao, A. Gandhi, M. Gopinath, M. Kishan Reddy, M. Krishna Rao, Prakash Goud, Rajendar Reddy, Sayanna and Venkat, were suspended from the house.
The house had to be adjourned twice, first for 10 minutes each, as the opposition members raised slogans demanding a debate on the farmers' suicides.
When the house re-assembled, the TDP members continued their protest near the speaker's podium.
The speaker appealed to resume the seats but it fell on deaf ears. As they persisted with their demand, Harish Rao moved a motion seeking their suspension.The MLAs were removed using the marshalls.
