South Actors Testing Waters in Hollywood

Bagging a Hollywood project in no mean task. Many Bollywood celebrities have already tried their luck in the western film industries. For instance Deepika was seen with Vin Diesel in xXx Return of Xander Cage while Priyanka Chopra has established her career there in the Television series Quantico. The actress has garnered huge following in the foreign countries after her appearance in the TV show.

Not only Bollywood actors, a few stars from the southern film industry too are trying their luck in Hollywood this year. Tamil actor Dhanush is all set for his Hollywood debut with the movie The Extraoridnary Journey of Fakir, which is slated for release in May. Dhanush plays the role of a street magician called Ajatashatru Lavash Patel in the movie. The movie is directed by Ken Scott, who earned fame after movies like Starbuck and Unfinished Business.

Other actors like south actors Sudeep and Napolean are looking forward to making their Hollywood debut with their upcoming projects, while Telugu actress Lakshmi Manchu is gearing up for her next untitled movie in Hollywood. Lakshmi Manchu, who has already appeared on international shows like Boston Legal and Housewives has made her movie debut with Brie Larson's comedy entertainer Basmati Blues. The movie was released on February 9.

Kannada actor Sudeep, who won a million hearts in Telugu with his performance in Rajamouli’s Eega and Baahubali, is making his Hollywood debut with the movie Risen, which is directed by an Australian filmmaker Eddie Arya. The movie will go on floors at the end of March and the actor will be seen in the role of an army officer.

Tamil actor Napolean, who is famous for the supporting roles in movies, is making his way into Hollywood with the movie Devil's Night: Dawn of the Nain Rouge, which is being helmed by Sam Logan Khalegi. The movie is produced by his friend Tel Ganesh.
