Soundarya Rajinikanth confirms separation, says divorce talks are on  

Soundarya, second daughter of superstar Rajinikanth, has confirmed that her marriage to industrialist Ashwin Ramkumar was coming to an end and that divorce talks have been initiated.

Soundarya Rajinikanth took to Twitter and wrote, “News about my marriage is true. We have been separated for over a year and divorce talks are on. I request all to respect my family’s privacy.”

Soundarya and Ashwin got married in 2010, and they have a one-year old son Ved, who turned one, just a few months back.

Rajinikanth, who was back from the US after his kidney transplant, visited Soundarya and stayed with her for a few days. It is said that during that period, the Superstar had tried to pacify his daughter to go for a compromise. But somehow, she didn’t pay heed to her dad’s advice and decided to go ahead with a legal separation from Ashwin.

Starting off as a graphic designer initially, Soundarya went on to direct Kochadaiiyaan — India’s first motion capture film, with Rajinikanth in the lead role.
