Son’s Hand Suspected In Death Of Mumbai Cop’s Wife
Mumbai: The wife of the inspector who probed the sensational Sheena Bora murder case was found dead at their home here on Wednesday in the city.
The inspector Dnyaneshwar Ganore(49) found his wife Deepali Ganore(42), lying in a pool of blood when he returned home after a night duty at 4.30 am on Wednesday. Police suspect their 21-year-old son, Siddhant, who went missing since Tuesday night. He also left his mobile at home.
"Around 3.30am, when Ganore returned home from work, he tried to open the door but failed, and his wife's phone was unreachable. Somehow he managed to open the door and saw Deepali lying there in a pool of blood," Senior Inspector Mahadev Wavale of Vakola Police Station said. Police have recovered the murder weapon, a kitchen knife, from the premises and a note "I am tired of her. Catch me and hang me" written in blood with a smiley.
They are also scanning the CCTV footage of the building. Deepali's last rites will be performed in Nasik after the autopsy and other formalities are completed, said an official.
Ganore was a member of the crack team headed by former Mumbai Police Commissioner Rakesh Maria which probed the sensational Sheena Bora murder in April 2012.
