six-month jail term for Kakinada ex-mayor

Former mayor of Kakinada Saroja was convicted in a cheque bounce case and sentenced six months jail term on Tuesday.

Saroja took Rs 5 lakh as loan from one Srinivas in 2008. She repaid the amount through a cheque, which was bounced. Srinivas approached the court. 

As the former mayor has been proved as guilty, the fifth Additional Magistrate Sanyasi Naidu sentenced her jail term.
