As many as six Maoists were killed and several injured in an encounter in Chattisgarh’s Dantewada on Friday. Besides, three Maoists were also arrested.

Police officials said that on receiving information about the presence of Maoists, police moved a joint force that gunned down the Maoists.
The dead Maoists have been identified as Ajay, Pudel and Manisha. The Maoists were able to take three bodies of their accomplices along with them.

A rifle, 35 gelatin sticks, banner, posters, medicines, arms and ammunition, battery, a detonator and Naxal literature were recovered from the site of encounter.
