SIT to Submit Report on Seshachala Encounter

Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT) constituted by the Andhra Pradesh government to probe the enounter killings of 20 alleged red-sanders smugglers in April 2015, will submit its report to the High Court by the month end.
The High Court was informed during a special hearing in the case in Hyderabad on Monday. The next hearing in the case will be held on Tuesday.
Meanwhile, a special police party is conducting extensive combing operations to trace red-sander smugglers in Seshachala forest in Chandragiri mandal on Monday. The smugglers were allegedly transporting red-sander logs when they saw the police personnel and ran away. The cost of the red-sander logs left behind by them is estimated to be around Rs. 2 crore.
