Sirimanotsavam' to be taken out on Oct 27 - Sakshi Post

Vizianagram (AP): Annual 'Sirimanotsavam' of the presiding deity of Vizianagaram town Sri Pydithalli Ammavari Jatara (festival) will be celebrated on October 27.

The month-long celebrations of the deity would begin fromOctober 13and will be concluded with 'Chandi Yagam' and 'Poornahuti' onNovember 11.

Talking to reporters,Pydithalli Ammavari Devasthanam executive officer, Bhanu Raja said “on the day preceding Sirimanotsavam, 'Tholellu' of the village goddess would be celebrated in a grand manner”.

The Teppotsavam is on November 3 and Vuyyala Kambala onNovember 10. Sirimanotsavam, the highly popular annual jatara in north coastal Andhra Pradesh, it involves carrying the Sirimanu (a decorated log fixed to a cart) will be witnessed by around four lakh devotees from all over AP and neighbouring Odisha.

Arrangements for the celebrations were being made in consultation with the district collector and Superintendent of Police and few other key district officials, the EO said.
